Eyeprint pro scleral device system now available at kirkwood Eye associates

Attention scleral lens wearers! We at Kirkwood Eye Associates are proud to be national leaders in scleral lens fitting for dry eye, keratoconus, and irregular cornea patients.  We are excited to announce the addition of the EyePrint Pro Scleral Device System to our practice.  This highly customized scleral lens fitting utilizes a compound that is inserted onto the surface of the eye and makes an impression of the globe.  That impression is 3D analyzed and a perfectly molded scleral device is produced for your eye.

This is a great option for patients with dry eye or irregular cornea (keratoconus, corneal transplant, post-LASIK, corneal trauma, etc.)  who have not been successful in standard scleral lens designs.

This process is FDA approved and surprisingly comfortable, with sensation being no different than inserting a contact lens.  The ocular surface is anesthetized with drops prior to impression.   

The devices can last up to two years and replacements do not require a new impression unless the cornea has changed dramatically.  The power of the lens can be changed when replacements are ordered.  There are also multifocal optics available for those who need reading help.
